A comprehensive victory for New Zealand in what was the best batting strip of the series, but Bangladesh will take the series 3-2. Should the hosts be worried about their tame loss in good batting conditions? Yes, they were resting a few stars, especially Shakib and Mustafizur, but this was still a World Cup bound squad and their lacklustre chase could be a cause of concern. New Zealand completely outplayed them, except for a period of four overs between 12th and 15th, in which Afif Hossain and Mahmudullah took 50 runs. A poor start and a poor finish as the hosts never came close to chasing down 162. Afif remained unbeaten on a 33-ball 49, which was their only silver lining.
