India Vs England 4th Test Day 2 Cricket Highlights September 3, 2021

England VS India Day 2 Test Match- Result

Stumps on Day 2 and this Test is moving ahead at a rapid rate. This was perhaps the first day of the series where conditions were pretty batting-friendly and England will be a bit disappointed at not having gained a bigger lead. At 62 for 5, after Umesh nipped out the overnight batsmen, it looked like India could slice through England’s middle and lower order, but Ollie Pope stood tall, he found useful support from Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes, taking the hosts into the lead. It was also getting evident that the pitch was losing its spice as the ball went soft and batting became a lot more easy. As the conditions eased out, so did the Indian bowlers begin to wither. Siraj and Shardul, the change bowlers weren’t effective and they let the hosts get away. 290 was what England eventually ended up, a handy 99-run first innings lead. With 70 minutes left in the day, India needed their openers to play out the new ball, Rohit did present one chance, but Burns failed to grab it. So, at 43 for 0, almost half the deficit has been eaten away, but India aren’t out of the woods as yet. A big day three coming up – if India do bat well, they could find themselves in a position of comfort, a few early wickets and England could be marching towards a 2-1 series lead. We’ll be there to bring you all the action, with the first ball starting at 11 am local. For now, cheers and bye..
