Fourth one day international from Dubai International Cricket Stadium (U.A.E) Friday, 29th March 2019. Dubai hosts the final leg of the series, with its surface expected to be straw-colored and slow. Kane Richardson will be hopeful of some game time now that the series is decided. With Shoaib Malik, the captain in Sarfaraz Ahmed’s absence, out with a bruised rib he picked up in the last game, Saad Ali will make his ODI debut. Imad Wasim will lead the team.

Toss: Pakistan won the toss and elected to field.

The Abu Dhabi ODI further shed light on Pakistan’s failure to deploy their resources effectively after how Usman Shinwari and Junaid Khan, who were benched in the first two matches, fared in their opening spells. Pakistan had failed to make early in roads in the first two matches something that the pair did in a matter of a few balls. With the pitch providing assistance to spinners in the middle-overs, Pakistan, keeping minimum fielders inside the inner circle, squandered an opportunity to exert pressure on the Australian batsmen and allowed constant rotation of strike.

If this series has done anything, it has amplified the pressure on Pakistan’s frontline players due to their replacements’ inability to live up to the expectations. Perhaps, this, after all, was not the time to test out the players on the periphery of a regular playing XI
